Hello Dianne,
It is extremely difficult to offer a reliable diagnosis without being able to personally examine you.
From what you describe, however, you could have a localized knee problem, a circulation problem in your pelvis or lower left leg and/or a problem with your third and fourth lumbar vertebrae.
You need to see a chiropractic physician for a thorough history and examination. S/he will be best qualified to determine the exact cause of your problem and help you most effectively.
The best way to locate the best chiropractor near you is to call several licensed massage therapists and ask them who the best chiropractor is. When you hear the same name a few times, that's the one you want to see.
Best of Health,
