Hello Anthony,
For colitis your doctor and the x-ray technician would be trying to "see" what is going on with your large intestine, especially the lowest section. Shielding your groin would likely have interfered with visualizing the most important areas of concern. The "head" of the x-ray machine would have been in front of your groin but angled up to provide the best "view" of your colon.
Since these views require the minimum amount of x-ray intensity, and since they would have been "aimed" away from your reproductive organs, and since you are not receiving repeated doses of x-rays to the same area, it is extremely unlikely you received enough exposure to affect your fertility.
If the burning in your groin area persists, you need to report this to your doctor and find the cause.
