You are totally correct in trying to treat your rosacea internally.
Since you're already on the way to finding things you need to avoid to "lead to less flare ups," focus on those and any others you can discover. Eliminating any and all stressors to your immune system will help tremendously.
As for the IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) treatments, there appears to be considerable evidence they can help. I'm sure you've looked on the Internet for places close to you where you can try these treatments. If not, "Google" IPL treatments in your state.
