I take prednizone for rosacia flare ups, is there another steroid that would help?

    Hello Debi,

Since I do not recommend steroids, it would be impossible for me to suggest a prescriptive alternative to prednizone.

For ALL skin conditions there are other organs whose function(s) need to be improved to help correct the CAUSE of the problem. In lieu of steroids I would suggest you call 800-614-4400 and ask for the name and number of the nearest Enzyme Therapy Associate to you. Working with this specialist should give you the best opportunity to improve or eliminate your rosacea flare ups.

  3. My father was perscribed prednizone, he has emphysema and his legs swelled up. Is this a side effect from the drug ?

    Hello Carol,

Emphysema and swelling in the legs are NOT usually side effects of prednizone. Other causes should be explored.

Please search the Internet via Google or some other good search engine for "prednizone." You will find many sources listing ALL the side effects and contraindications for this drug.

Prednizone has been perscribed for Coombs Positive haemolytic.

Is there an alternative therapy or supplementation that I can take.

    Thank you

    Hello Lorina,

Autoimmune Hemolytic Anemia is a rare form of anemia that causes antibodies to be produced against your own red blood cells. The Direct Coombs' Test detects antibodies already attached to red blood cells.

I am not aware of any alternative therapy or supplementation you can take that would effectively stop your body from producing antibodies against your own red blood cells.

There is a great deal of information available on autoimmune hemolytic anemia. A good place to start would be the following web site:

The more you look into whatever information you can find on the Internet the better your choices for appropriately and adequately dealing with your condition.
