Simply stated, you will have no fruits, breads, pastas, grains (except sprouted - see below), sugars, or other simple carbohydrates, of any type or sort, for at least one week. The most frequently asked question is, "What do I have for breakfast?" The answer is, "The same thing you have for all your other meals and snacks - meat and/or vegetables."
1. If you perspire heavily all day you can drink up to half your body weight in ounces of pure, high alkaline pH water every day.
You can add chlorphyll drops to your water to increase its alkalinity. You should purchase a PUR 18 Cup Water Dispenser or an Aquasana Water Filter System to attach to your faucet.
Use this filtered water for all your cooking and drinking needs.
- For flavor, you may add the juice from a fresh lemon or lime to your water.
- Juices, freshly made, from organic vegetables or fruit are the only other acceptable drinks.
- No coffee, tea, pop, milk, packaged juices, alcoholic beverages, or any other type of drink.
2. Emphasize fresh, organically grown vegetables (NO Fruits. NO Grains, except sprouted). |
- No root vegetables such as potatoes, carrots (except as used in fresh juices - see above), etc.
- No pre-packaged, canned, or dried produce. Frozen vegetables (organic is best) are acceptable.
- No breads, pastas, chips, crackers, or anything made with flour or sugar from any grain.
- Small quantities of rice may be used for anyone with blood sugar handling problems (diabetes, hypoglycemia, etc.) that require some form of complex carbohydrate. Do not hesitate to ask if you need help with this or any other special needs.
- Cut vegetables kept in the refrigerator, in a container with a little water, are handy for frequent snacks. It becomes lots easier after the first two or three days.
3. Meat proteins should be limited to fresh, deep ocean fish (salmon, tuna, halibut, cod, etc.) (no shellfish), organic chicken or turkey, or wild game (deer, elk, etc.).
Preferred cooking methods are briefly at high temperatures (broiling, sautéing, stir frying, etc.) or at low temperatures for longer times (baking, crock pot, etc.).
The only acceptable fats are extra virgin olive oil (great for making salad dressings with fresh lemon juice), organic clarified butter (ghee), and organic coconut oil
|
(Spectrum Naturals brand) (great for any high temperature cooking).
- No cheese or any other types of milk products. No eggs.
- No soy or soy products.
- No pre-cooked, canned, or pre-packaged meats of any sort.
- No fast food restaurant meals. Strictly minimize all other restaurant meals during this time.
An acceptable, alternative source of protein is soaked or sprouted seeds, nuts, grains, beans, or legumes. Nuts should be soaked for at least 24 hours with the soak water being discarded afterward.
Sprouting all other types of seeds provides a delicious source of vitamins, minerals, and proteins. Sprouts make an excellent addition to salads and other meals. If you would like instructions for sprouting all types of seeds, let us know.
